ingredients needed

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm water
  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • Zaatar Topping: ½ cup Lebanese zaatar ½ cup extra virgin olive oil

  • In a bowl, mix warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let rest 5–10 minutes until foamy.
  • Add flour, salt, and olive oil. Knead until soft and elastic.
  • Cover and let dough rise for 1 hour, until doubled in size.
  • Divide dough into balls and flatten into round discs.
  • Mix zaatar with olive oil and spread evenly over each disc.
  • Bake in a preheated oven at 425°F (220°C) for 8–10 minutes until lightly golden.
  • Serve warm.
